Daniel James is now set to depart Manchester United in a deal worth £25 million that will see the Welsh international joining Leeds United.

As per Fabrizio Romano, it is now a ‘done deal’ and confirmed it with ‘here we go!’. The personal terms for the deal were agreed very quickly and not soon after an agreement was completed between the clubs.

James will travel to Leeds tonight following the agreement with a medical scheduled to take place tomorrow morning. An official announcement is expected to follow soon.

The fee for James is £25 million, along with add-ons, making it a record deal for Leeds United, who almost signed the winger before he joined United in 2019.

United were happy to listen to offers for James as they looked to cut down their squad after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

Despite the news of a deal confirmed with Leeds, it must be noted that James is not 100 percent heading to Elland Road this summer as further news has surfaced that Everton are looking to hijack the deal, as per Wayne Vessey via Football Insider.

Whilst Marcelo Bielsa looks confident to have gotten his man, Everton have stepped up their interest in the 23-year old following the news of Leeds’ agreement.

The likelihood of Everton successfully hijacking the deal is unknown, but as it stands, Daniel James will become a Leeds United player this summer.
