All You Need to Know About Manchester United’s Pre-Season Tour

Manchester United have set off to Bangkok to kick off their first international pre-season tour since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manchester United have set off to Bangkok to kick off their first international pre-season tour since before the COVID-19 pandemic.


Here at The United Stand, we have compiled all the important dates, times and information you need to support the Reds ahead of the 2022/23 season.


Erik ten Hag and his squad kicked off their tour with a flight to Bangkok, Thailand to begin a busy tour in preparation for the new season. Their schedule is jam-packed with six exciting games to be played across a 20-day period.


So who do United take on in the first match of the tour?

It all begins with a massive clash against rivals Liverpool at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Thailand. This game will be played on Tuesday 12th July. The match is scheduled for kick off at 2pm UK time.

After a single game in Asia, United will jet off to Australia for a handful of fixtures. The first opponent is Melbourne Victory.

The game will take place on Friday 15th July with kick off scheduled for 11:05am UK time.


This fixture, as well as the following game, is set to be played in Australia’s largest sporting stadium - Melbourne Cricket Ground, which has a capacity of over 100,000!

In the following week, United will take on Premier League opponents Crystal Palace in the second game of the tour’s Australian leg. This match will take place on Tuesday 19th July at 11:10am UK time.

In the final game in Australia, United take on yet another Premier League side in Aston Villa, which will be played on Saturday 23rd July.

The Reds will take on Steven Gerard’s squad in Perth at the Optus Stadium. The game will kick off at 10:45am UK time.

Following on from United’s time in Thailand and Australia, the side will return to Europe to conclude their tour with two final fixtures.

The first game back in Europe will be played in Oslo, Norway, as we take on the tough Spanish side, Atletico Madrid. The game at the Ullevaal Stadium will be on Saturday 30th July and will kick off 12:45pm UK time.

Then, concluding the tour, United will be returning to Old Trafford for Erik ten Hag’s first game at the Theatre of Dreams. On Sunday 31st July, United will face the Spanish side Rayo Vallencano with the game kicking off at 4:00pm UK time.
